Fun Ways to Engage Supporters of All Ages in Philanthropy
Learn more about philanthropy and giving back with the Jimmy Fund by participating in engaging fundraising events that support patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. By participating in these events, youth, teens, and young adults can tap into their creativity, build self-confidence and leadership skills, and learn the importance of fundraising in the community.

- Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai
To engage younger participants, the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk offers a reduced fundraising minimum of $130 for kids under 18 walking in person and a $30 minimum for those walking virtually. Choose one of four routes, from 5K Walk (3.1 miles) to the full Marathon Walk (26.2 miles), as well as the option to walk “your way” virtually. There is also a Young Pacesetters program for kids under 18 who raise $500 or more. School and community groups, sports, teams, and families can also volunteer together at the Jimmy Fund Walk.
- Fenway Fantasy Day
Send a Dana-Farber patient to Fenway Fantasy Day to play on-field at Fenway Park! Whether it is fundraising as a team or an individual, supporters of any age can help a patient live out their baseball dreams.
- Jimmy Fund Little League presented by Franklin Sports
Jimmy Fund Little League presented by Franklin Sports provides youth baseball and softball players throughout New England the opportunity to play in summer leagues and tournaments, while raising funds for the Jimmy Fund.
- Jimmy Fund Golf
Jimmy Fund Golf offers family and friends the opportunity to come together and play golf in support of cancer care and research. From 18-hole tournaments to mini-golf, there are many opportunities for people of all ages to get involved. Learn how you can get involved and help get on the right course to fight cancer.
- Jimmy Fund Let's Game®
The Jimmy Fund Let's Game® initiative invites streamers, gamers, and content creators to make an impact on the lifesaving work happening at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. No matter your stream, no matter your location, you can make a difference in the lives of cancer patients around the world by joining our community of charity streamers today. Streamers must be at least 13 and have parent/guardian permission to participate.
- PMC Kids Ride
The PMC Kids Rides Program offers children, parents, and neighbors an opportunity to work together to create individual bike-a-thons in neighborhoods, at schools, or in business complexes. Rides enable children between the ages of 2 and 15 to ride their bikes and solicit donations with 100% of all rider-raised dollars supporting Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
- Rally Against CancerSM
Fundraise for the Jimmy Fund at your school and your team could win prizes like Red Sox tickets, hats, or a visit from a Red Sox player. Make sure you wear your Red Sox gear to school on Fenway Park’s Opening Day to show your team spirit!
- Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl®
Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl® presented by Valvoline Instant Oil ChangeSM is the nation's largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival filled with sweet treats, live entertainment, and fun each summer. Students can earn free admission as well as other great prizes by participating in the Jimmy Fund Scooper Schools Program and helping the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute defy cancer with every scoop by fundraising with their classroom throughout the year. Parents can also purchase tickets for their families to make a difference in the sweetest way possible.
- Junior Jimmy FundRaisers
Interested in hosting your own event? Take a passion or hobby and turn it into a ”DIY” (do-it-yourself) fundraiser to support cancer care and research at Dana-Farber. From bake sales and potlucks to car washes, yard sales, and baseball games, it’s easy to host your own event and the Jimmy Fund provides ample resources to help you be successful.
