Best Foot Forward: 16th Annual QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale"

To Benefit Breast Cancer Research and Education Institutions

September 22, 2009

This October, in honor of breast cancer awareness month, putting your best foot forward is easier than ever — especially when it involves fabulous shoes at HALF the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

QVC and the Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) are once again joining forces to broadcast QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale," a charitable shoe sale to benefit breast cancer research and education. This year's program is scheduled to air on QVC Tuesday, October 13, 2009, from 7 PM to 10 PM (ET).

For the past 15 years, QVC Presents "FFANY Shoes on Sale" has sold more than one million pairs of shoes and has donated over $30 million to the cause. This year, more than 100,000 pairs of shoes from over 100 brands will be sold for half the manufacturer's suggested retail price, with net proceeds benefiting breast cancer research and education institutions, including:

  • The Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania — Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • The Breast Cancer Research Foundation — New York, New York
  • The Women's Cancers Program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute — Boston, Massachusetts
  • The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins — Baltimore, Maryland
  • The University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast Oncology Program — Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences — Little Rock, Arkansas
  • The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine — St. Louis, Missouri
  • The John Wayne Cancer Institute Breast Center at Saint John's Health Center — Santa Monica, California

Nine West Footwear Corporation and the Brown Shoe Company, the event's two special benefactors, are donating nearly 20,000 pairs each, bringing shoe shoppers such brands as Enzo Angiolini, Bandolino and AK Anne Klein as well as Via Spiga, Etienne Aigner and Carlos by Carlos Santana. Other companies generously donating shoes include MICHAEL by Michael Kors, Coach Footwear, Cape Clogs, Calvin Klein, UGG Australia, New York Transit, Dr. Martens and Birkenstock — among many others. A special selection of additional styles will be available on www.QVC.com.

In addition to the October 13 scheduled broadcast, shoppers may contribute to the cause by purchasing the "Shoe of the Day," offered each weekday throughout the month of October on QVC from 7 AM to 9 AM (ET). A special collection of shoes will also be available online, at QVC.com, beginning October 1 and continuing throughout the month, while supplies last.

Shoes will be available through QVC by calling 800-345-1515 or by visiting www.QVC.com.
