HomeGoods & Homesense Invite Customers to Help Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Families Facing Cancer
Annual in-store fundraising campaign benefiting the Jimmy Fund features pediatric cancer patient-designed reusable shopping bags.
HomeGoods and Homesense shoppers can support adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute while shopping at the leading off-price home decor retailer from May 29 through June 27, 2026.
More than 900 HomeGoods and Homesense stores across the country are participating in the 26th annual fundraising campaign to help families facing cancer, where shoppers can purchase limited edition reusable shopping bags in select stores. The shopping bags feature artwork by Bella, age 6, a patient in Dana-Farber's Jimmy Fund Clinic. One bag features beautiful rainbows and butterflies in an outdoor scene, while the second bag includes colorful purple and turquoise abstract shapes and designs. Bella loves gymnastics, purple, spending time with her family and friends, eating chocolate, reading books, making arts and crafts, and has a keen fashion sense for all things sparkly. In September 2024, Bella wasn’t acting like herself and missed school because she was not feeling well. She had low energy and was unable to participate in activities including gymnastics and soccer. She was soon diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and her treatment has included chemotherapy. Bella is slated to finish treatment in October 2026.
For each bag purchased, HomeGoods and Homesense will contribute 50% of the purchase price to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund. In addition, more than 750 stores will be collecting campaign donations from customers at the register, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the organization’s lifesaving mission to defy cancer. Through HomeGoods’ “Find Home Anywhere” commitment to help people feel a sense of belonging no matter where life takes them, HomeGoods has supported Dana-Farber Cancer Institute with its annual in-store fundraisers to help families facing cancer for more than two decades–raising more than $34 million since 2001.
“We’re pleased to continue working with HomeGoods and HomeSense to give their shoppers a special way to support Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund,” said Tom Caron, Jimmy Fund co-chair and NESN Red Sox broadcaster. “By purchasing a Jimmy Fund Clinic patient-designed bag or donating at the register to support the ‘HomeGoods Helps Families Fight Cancer’ campaign, you are helping to reimagine the future of cancer care for cancer patients worldwide.”
“With the unmatched support of our generous customers, we’re proud to support patients like Bella and their families throughout their cancer journeys,” said Victoria Shonkoff, SVP, director of Marketing, HomeGoods & Homesense. “We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund and look forward to continuing to create a sense of home and belonging for Dana-Farber patients and their families for years to come.”
Fundraising proceeds helped support the creation and 2024 opening of the HomeGoods Young Adult Lounge, along with wrap-around services such as targeted programs, research, and grants, to foster a sense of belonging for young adult patients, ages 18-40. Funds will also continue to help support pediatric and adult patient assistance programs, such as housing assistance on a rolling basis for pediatric and adult cancer patient families facing financial hardship. This support helps ease the burden of treatment costs and covers their rent or mortgage, so they have a safe and comfortable place to rest and recover.
