Start a Golf Event
Starting a golf event allows you to enjoy a sport you love with your community, while supporting groundbreaking research and compassionate patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Your event can range from a full 18-hole tournament to a mini golf outing, golf marathon, or an event at your existing golf club. A golf fundraiser is perfect for a corporate gathering, community or family event, school fundraiser, or alumni event. Gather your colleagues for a summer tournament, or work with your child's school or your family for a fun mini golf event.
Want to fundraise on your own? Work with your golf club to tackle a golf marathon, a fun and unique way for individuals or groups to raise funds to help Dana-Farber conquer cancer. Secure permission from a golf club to play as many holes as possible during a timeframe you determine—it could be playing until you run out of sun or for a specific number of hours or holes. Encourage your family, friends, and colleagues to pledge a certain amount per hole, or a flat contribution, to help you raise funds.
Whichever way you choose to play, the Jimmy Fund Golf staff has extensive experience helping volunteers plan successful golf events of all types and will guide you in raising funds that will help fight cancer. When you start an event, you will receive:
- A designated staff member to guide you with event logistics and fundraising ideas
- Comprehensive Tournament Director how-to manual
- Access to online Jimmy Fund Golf Resource Center
- Marketing support, including templates for signage, press releases, social media posts, and more
- Advice on securing sponsors
- Invitations to special Jimmy Fund Golf recognition events
Please complete our new golf event form and a staff member will reach out to you to help you get started or learn more. Get on the right course to fight cancer.®
