Golf FAQs

  • Why do I have to fill out paperwork?

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute requires paperwork for all third-party fundraising events in order to ensure compliance with Dana-Farber's internal policies and procedures. These policies serve to ensure that all events using Dana-Farber's name and logos maintain a prudent cost of funds raised, follow all relevant local, state and federal laws, and portray Dana-Farber in a positive light.

  • What is the Jimmy Fund, and how is it related to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute?

The Jimmy Fund solely supports Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, raising funds for adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research to improve the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world.

  • How are Jimmy Fund Golf events organized?

Volunteer tournament directors and committees plan and host golf events annually. Jimmy Fund Golf staff have extensive experience guiding volunteers through the planning process and to offer advice and resources.

  • I’d like to play in an existing tournament. How do I find an event near me?

Please visit our Play in a Golf Event page and use our Event Finder to search all events by month and state. Please check the page often as new tournament dates are frequently added.

  • I don’t live in New England. Can I still start a tournament?

Absolutely. In addition to our New England events, Jimmy Fund Golf runs tournaments in Texas, Florida... even California. We'll provide guidance and resources to help you plan your golf event regardless of location.

  • I don’t play golf, but want to get involved. How can I help?

You don't need to be a golfer to help. Plan a mini golf event, or get involved by encouraging your corporation or organization to become a sponsor or make an in-kind donation of goods or services.
