The Red Sox Foundation, the official charity of the Boston Red Sox, was founded in 2002 to leverage the iconic brand of the Boston Red Sox, harnessing the passion of baseball fans to make a lasting community impact through sports philanthropy.
One of the ways the Red Sox Foundation and the Jimmy Fund communities come together is through a specialty Massachusetts license plate, with proceeds split evenly between the Red Sox Foundation and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute & The Jimmy Fund.
Strike Out Cancer with a Charity License Plate
Get a charity license plate that supports the Red Sox Foundation and Dana-Farber & The Jimmy Fund.
You can order your plate online from the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles in a few easy steps and have the plate delivered directly to you:
- Go to the RMV website, click Order a special plate online, and log in to your account
- Select Charitable Plate when asked What kind of plate would you like to order?
- Select Red Sox when asked Which specific plate will you order?
The plate costs $40, with $28 split evenly between our organizations. The remaining $12 is a one-time only cost to cover manufacturing expenses. When you renew your plate for $40 every two years, $20 goes directly to each organization. You’ll get your new plates and registration in the mail.
