Since its founding, the Red Sox Foundation has made the Jimmy Fund its Core Partner, providing meaningful funding and support.

The Red Sox Foundation, the official charity of the Boston Red Sox, was founded in 2002 to leverage the iconic brand of the Boston Red Sox, harnessing the passion of Red Sox Nation to make a lasting community impact through sports philanthropy. 

The Red Sox Foundation partners with and shares proceeds of its Massachusetts license plate program with the Jimmy Fund help support the Jimmy Fund and patients at Dana-Farber.

The Red Sox Foundation/Jimmy Fund Massachusetts license plate program helps raise funds for the lifesaving mission of the foundation's Core Partner, Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund.

You can show pride for your hometown team while helping to raise critical funds for patient care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Purchase your own special Red Sox Foundation/Jimmy Fund license plate today and help patients everywhere strike out cancer.

Order your plate via the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles website. 

It’s easy to complete in a few simple steps: 

  • Once on the website, simply click “Order a Special Plate Online” to begin.
    • When prompted, "what kind of plate would you like to order?" select "Charitable Plate."
    • When prompted, "which specific plate will you order?" select "Red Sox."
    • The Red Sox Foundation/Jimmy Fund license plate will appear. 

The plate costs $40, with $28 of the purchase price split evenly between the Jimmy Fund and the Red Sox Foundation. The remaining $12 is a one-time-only cost to cover.
