From holiday cards to the Limited Edition Green Monster Yankee Candle, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and its Jimmy Fund offer many ways for conscientious shoppers to give gifts that keep on giving during this season.
The cures are in the cards
Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute holiday greetings add to the season's warmth and make a difference in the lives of those facing cancer. Featuring 14 exclusive designs and greetings, including classic New England winter scenes, Red Sox and Patriots cards, and cards designed by a Jimmy Fund Clinic patient and a cancer survivor, these cards are available in sets of 15 for $20 per set. The entire 2006 Holiday Card Collection is now available to view and buy online at www.jimmyfund.org/holiday. The cards are also on sale at Crate & Barrel retail stores throughout New England, and in the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute lobby at 44 Binney Street, Boston.
Give the ultimate Red Sox experience
Send the Boston Red Sox fan in your life to the 16th annual John Hancock Fantasy Day at Fenway Park next summer (Date TBD) to benefit the Jimmy Fund. Participants get 15 chances to hit a ball over the "Green Monster," or they can test their fielding skills for a half-hour, or simply come to cheer from the stands. Food will be served all day in the State Street Pavilion for participants. Packages range from $50 - $2200. Details are online, and tickets will be on sale Dec. 1 at www.jimmyfund.org/fantasyday.
A Yankee to love
The Jimmy Fund and Yankee Candle Company have partnered to bring Red Sox fans the only Yankee they will ever love. The Limited Edition evergreen-scented Green Monster Yankee Candle comes in a glass 14.5 oz. jar. It is on sale in the Dana-Farber lobby for $20, and online for $23.
Great Chefs Cooking for Great Friends
Give the gift of great food this holiday season by purchasing the one-of-a-kind cookbook from the Friends of Dana-Farber. The all-volunteer organization raises funds for patients, education, research, and treatment programs.
Great Chefs Cooking for Great Friends features 140 recipes from 70 of Boston's most celebrated chefs, including Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger, Jasper White of Summer Shack, Laura Brenna of Caffe Umbra, and Ken Oringer of Clio. The book costs $35, and is on sale at the Friends' Corner Gift Shop in the Dana-Farber lobby, or call (617) 632-3307.
