Dance the night away at the annual Bassman's Ball, an evening filled with dancing, music, and opportunity drawings, in honor of Timothy P. Roberts and benefits the Reeling in a Dream Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Tim was known in his fishing circle as the "Bassman" and this dance is named after him.
The Timothy P. Roberts Reeling in a Dream Fund was founded by family and friends following Tim's death in 2005 at the age of 22. Throughout his struggle with esophageal cancer, Tim showed amazing compassion for fellow cancer-stricken young adults, even as he was among the most ill.
His desire was to provide other patients, aged 18-30, with little things that would make a big difference toward making their lives fun, easier, and satisfying, even in the face of their illness. He hoped to fulfill dreams and wishes that could not be granted within the scope of traditional medical care to young adult patients.
While Tim did not see his dream realized, the Fund's goal is to fulfill his vision, and more importantly, the dreams of others, in loving memory of Tim's compassion.
All proceeds from the Bassman’s Ball benefit the Timothy P. Roberts Reeling in a Dream Fund in support of patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
