Project Cupid was founded by Amy Blue after her nine-year-old cousin lost his battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia only days before his tenth birthday. On Feb. 5, 2010, Red Sky Restaurant and Lounge in Boston hosted Project Cupid's inaugural Charity Date Auction to benefit the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The auction allowed attendees to bid on dates with 14 bachelorettes and 14 bachelors. In addition to the auction, there was an opportunity drawing, a live DJ, and some exciting love connections.
The evening's MC was Jay Michaels from the "Weekend Blowout" on Kiss 108 FM. In honor of the auction, Red Sky Restaurant and Lounge offered a special drink called the "Cupidtini."
