New Stars for Young Stars

Presented by the Jimmy Fund Council of Greater Boston, this Boston Red Sox autograph-signing event provides a unique and memorable opportunity to meet and greet some of the newer Red Sox players, as well as many of the up-and-coming minor league players from the Red Sox organization.
The 2010 event welcomed the following players:
- Manny Delcarmen — Red Sox pitcher
- Luis Exposito — Red Sox top catching prospect
- Jeremy Hermida — Red Sox outfielder
- Casey Kelly — 2009 Red Sox Minor League Pitcher of the year
- Ryan Kalish — 2009 Red Sox Minor League Player of the Year
- Josh Reddick — Red Sox outfielder
- Ryan Westmoreland — SoxProspects.com #2 ranked prospect
- Trot Nixon — Member of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox
- Curt Schilling — Former Red Sox pitcher
In addition to the autograph signings there was a buffet lunch, sports memorabilia on sale, an opportunity drawing, a silent auction, and a bowling contest to help strike out cancer.
Since its inception in 2006, the Jimmy Fund Council of Greater Boston and New Stars for Young Stars has raised more than $130,000 for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, hosted approximately 250 clinic patients and their families at private parties with Red Sox players, and contributed nearly 1,500 pieces of autographed memorabilia to patients at the Jimmy Fund Clinic.
