Jimmy Fund Golf Program
Get on the right course to fight cancer®
Organize a Golf Marathon
Organize a Golf Marathon at your golf club or a course in your area.
Golf Marathons (or "golf-a-thons") are a fun and unique way for small groups to fundraise. Anyone can organize a Golf Marathon: they are a great vehicle for individuals or small groups.
The basic premise is simple:
- Participants secure pledges, usually on a 'per hole played' basis. Friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues pledge in support of your dedication to fighting cancer.
- Participants then get permission from a facility to play as many holes as possible during a defined timeframe. That timeframe is up to you: go until you must quit, only during daylight hours, for a set of specific hours (e.g. 9 to 5), or for any other period the facility will agree to host.
- After the event, participants collect pledges and submit them to the Jimmy Fund.
- Some marathons are limited. They can be as small as one person. Others can include dozens of people. Anything's possible depending on your vision for the event.
