Pete and Richard Morrissette
Dance the night away at the 25th “Fight Against Cancer Dance” in memory of Pete and Richard Morrissette. The Morrissette Family launched this event in 1986, in memory of Pete, who lost his battle with cancer in 1985. The dance has been in memory of both family members since Richard lost his battle with cancer in 2000.
The dance has continued to grow each year. It not only raises money for Dana-Farber, but enables friends and family members to keep the memories of Pete and Richard alive in their hearts and minds. So far, it has raised just under $123,000 for Dana-Farber.
The evening includes dancing to music provided by a disc jockey as well as a huge opportunity drawing. Past prizes have included sports tickets, bikes, gifts baskets and gift certificates as well as handmade blankets, quilts, and scarves.
Tickets to the dance are $5 and opportunity drawing tickets are three for a dollar. All proceeds benefit Dana-Farber in the memory of Pete and Richard.
