Jimmy Fund Fantasy Day at Fenway
Jimmy Fund Fantasy Day at Fenway hits a home run
On July 19, more than 3,000 Boston Red Sox fans had the opportunity to play out their baseball dreams and support Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund's fight against cancer by participating in the 18th annual Jimmy Fund Fantasy Day at Fenway.
The sunny day featured an array of fun activities designed to bring out the baseball fan in everyone. On-field, participants were able to bat, field, and run the bases like their favorite Red Sox players. Off the field, attendees took part in the Ultimate Fan Experience, which included activities that allowed them to test their pitching speed, take a few swings in a batting cage, or join in a variety of contests and other activities.

All together, the fun-filled event managed to bat in $400,000 bringing the event's cumulative total to more than $6.7 million.
"Fantasy Day is an incredible chance to not only have fun playing baseball, but also to support and honor those who are fighting cancer," said Institute Trustee Ken Levine, who sponsored the event with his brother Bob for the second consecutive year.
The day was also a dream come true for many Jimmy Fund Clinic patients, thanks to donors who sponsored a clinic team, giving patients the chance to take to the field. For the first time this year, participants also could purchase an "All-Star" package that allowed a pediatric or adult patient to take part in the Ultimate Fan Experience. The opportunity saw great success this year, with packages sponsored for 44 Dana-Farber patients.
