Stop & Shop Triple Winner Game® Celebrates 21st Anniversary

August 18, 2011

Beginning April 15 and lasting through July 14, shoppers will have the opportunity to help support pediatric brain tumor care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through Stop & Shop's annual Triple Winner Game®.

Stop & Shop, in partnership with the Boston Red Sox, has raised more than $50 million through the Triple Winner Game.

Customers who give a $1 contribution to the Jimmy Fund receive a Triple Winner scratch ticket and receive free store products, coupons, gift cards, or cash prizes up to $10,000.

The Triple Winner Game, started in 1991, supports the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber, the most comprehensive research and care center for pediatric brain tumor patients in the United States. This program also provides children with in-depth intellectual and emotional support to help them adapt to their lives post-treatment.

"Stop & Shop is incredibly proud of our customers and associates who make the Triple Winner program successful every year," said Mark McGowan, division president of Stop & Shop New England.

"There is nothing more rewarding than to see the kids in our Triple Winner family grow into productive, successful, teenagers and adults. We're proud to partner with the dedicated team at Dana-Farber and help truly make a difference in the lives of so many families," he added.

"Through the direct support of the Stop & Shop Triple Winner Game®, we have been able to significantly improve the diagnosis of brain tumors in children and this has resulted in more effective and less toxic therapies," said Mark Kieran, MD, PhD, director of the pediatric medical neuro-oncology program at Dana-Farber.
