John Valentin
During the late 1990s, John Valentin was a familiar face at the Jimmy Fund Clinic and at several events for the Jimmy Fund.

Valentin joins Jimmy Fund Clinic Kids for a special ceremony at Fenway.
The former third baseman served as honorary chairman for the Jimmy Fund Stair Climb, and often appeared at the Scooper Bowl® and at festivities for the Stop & Shop Triple Winner Program.
One of Valentin's most memorable initiatives on behalf of the Jimmy Fund was his collaboration with the New England Confectionary Company to produce "Sweet Hits" candy. All of the candy company's profits from the sale of the baseball-shaped candies went to the Jimmy Fund. In addition, Valentin gave his portion of the proceeds to the Jimmy Fund in memory of Lucas Bartlett, a 5-year-old Jimmy Fund Clinic patient who Valentin had befriended before the youngster lost his battle with cancer.
