Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox are champions in the fight against cancer. In 1953, the Red Sox adopted the Jimmy Fund as an official charity to save lives, find cures, and dramatically change the quality of life for patients and families facing cancer in New England and around the world.

This year celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Jimmy Fund and Boston Red Sox relationship, and represents one of the most remarkable partnerships between a team and a charity in the history of professional sports.
From the beginning, team owners, coaches, players and other members of the Red Sox family have supported the cause with enthusiasm, helping to advance cancer research and patient care and bring hope to those facing this disease.
In 2013, the partnership between Boston's favorite baseball team and New England's favorite charity is stronger than ever, and the entire year will be one of grand celebration, including the first annual Jimmy Fund Chorus, the Community Caravan, and Jimmy Fund Month at Fenway Park in August.
The Jimmy Fund Chorus will sing at select Jimmy Fund events throughout the year. This ensemble will include current and former Dana-Farber adult and pediatric patients and their family members, Dana-Farber staff, friends and those who have been touched by cancer. This is a special way to celebrate the historic Red Sox – Jimmy Fund partnership.
Dana-Farber's Blum Family Resource Center Van and Mammography van will be parked outside Fenway Park throughout the season, as well as neighborhoods throughout the Boston area. The Community Caravan will bring awareness, education and screening to Red Sox Nation.
The 60th anniversary celebration continues in August when Fenway Park, America's most beloved ballpark, celebrates Jimmy Fund Month. Various events and on-field activities will take place, including the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon on August 27 and 28 featuring compelling interviews with patients, their families, and Dana-Farber care providers and scientists.
