The Jimmy Fund today announced its first-ever contest seeking the public’s ideas for a new fundraiser to benefit cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country’s leading cancer institutions.

Boston Red Sox players Will Middlebrooks and Jarrod Saltalamacchia named 2013 Jimmy Fund Rally Against Cancer spokesplayers
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund announce that Boston Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks and Boston Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia will serve as this year's spokesplayers for the Jimmy Fund’s 8th Annual Rally Against Cancer. Middlebrooks and Saltalamacchia are also Jimmy Fund Co-Captains for the 2013 season; Rally Against Cancer will be their first assignment.

Boston Red Sox - Jimmy Fund partnership marks 60th anniversary
The Boston Red Sox and the Jimmy Fund, which together support adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their historic partnership during the upcoming baseball season. Red Sox President and CEO Larry Lucchino and Dana-Farber President and CEO Edward J. Benz Jr., MD, kicked off the celebration during a news conference at Dana-Farber's Yawkey Center for Cancer Care.
