"Coins for Cancer" program at participating Taco Bell® and KFC restaurants
No need to have a pocket full of loose change. From Sep. 12 through Oct. 2, customers at participating Taco Bell and KFC restaurants will be asked to contribute spare change to the Jimmy Fund, as part of the restaurants' "Coins for Cancer" program. After customers make their purchase, the cashier will ask them if they would like to contribute their change. Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters will be accepted. If customers want to contribute dollars as well, those won't be turned away. It is great way to for people to make a big difference in the fight against cancer by just giving a little.
Taco Bell restaurants have generously supported the Jimmy Fund since 1999 and this year KFC will join the efforts. Participating Taco Bell and KFC restaurants are located throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, and New York.
"We are so proud of our team and the continued relationship with the Jimmy Fund. It is our privilege to raise money to help conquer cancer," said Roger Lockwood, Taco Bell franchisee. "I am even more pleased this year that we will raise more money thanks to participating KFC stores who will be joining the Jimmy Fund in the fight against cancer. Between Taco Bell and KFC, we can certainly make a big difference."
The Jimmy Fund supports the fight against cancer at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for children and adults with cancer around the world. Since 1948, the generosity of millions of people has helped the Jimmy Fund save countless lives by furthering cancer research and care. Unrestricted support from the Jimmy Fund is an integral part of Mission Possible: The Dana-Farber Campaign to Conquer Cancer, a $1 billion capital campaign to accelerate cancer research, speed development of life-saving therapies, and expand the Institutes signature patient- and family-centered care.
