Step up to the plate for the Jimmy Fund
John Hancock Fantasy Day at Fenway Park, June 4
Move over Tim Wakefield, Trot Nixon, David Ortiz, and Jason Varitek. For diehard baseball fans who would love to play ball at Fenway Park, now is your chance to step up to the plate during John Hancock Fantasy Day to support the Jimmy Fund. To be held on Sunday, June 4 (rain date June 5), Fantasy Day is a home run opportunity to play in the oldest stadium in Major League Baseball, while pitching in to support cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Featuring both daytime and "under the lights" sessions, Fantasy Day has a variety of packages including a Batting Package, a Fielding Package, Combo Package, and a Fan Package. For those looking for the entire Red Sox experience, the all-inclusive Combo Package with batting, fielding, and a day to remember, costs $2200 for one player, and $11,000 for a team of five. On the other end of the line-up, Fantasy Day allows adults to enjoy a day at Fenway with the Fan Package for $100, with children ages 3 to 10 years old costing $50.
The Batting Package gives players a warm-up session in the batting cages, followed up with 15 chances to hit a ball over Fenway's Green Monster. Batters get an official Red Sox jersey, the thrill of seeing their name on the centerfield message board, and will hear a description of their performance over the loudspeaker.
If you want to catch a fly ball or tag someone out at base, the Fielding Package is best, with a half-hour of field time, and a chance to hang out in the dugout.
All Fantasy Day fans can watch the action from the stands, get a tour of the historic park, enjoy a meal, and get a personal photo souvenir.
John Hancock Fantasy Day fills up quickly, so log onto www.jimmyfund.org/fantasyday or call Alicia Gallo at (617) 632-3611 to sign up today. The Jimmy Fund coaching staff will assign participants a time to report to Fenway Park.
This annual fundraising event is made possible by the generosity of the Boston Red Sox and John Hancock Financial Services.
