Cows may be able to sleep standing up but they prefer to lay down and be comfortable. Thanks to the Boston Marriott Hotels, now cow-lovers will be able to do the same.

Marriott is helping Boston celebrate a summer of cows. More than 117 bovines are gracing the streets and landmarks of the historic city as a part of CowParade Boston. The cows were created by artists in the latest version of the world’s largest public art event. The herd will be on display until September 5. Following their time in public, the cows will be rounded up for an auction to benefit cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund. The Boston Marriott Copley Place will be hosting the gala event on Sept. 21 in their recently renovated ballroom.

The Copley Marriott is not the only one showing some cow spirit. The Boston Marriott Long Wharf, Boston Marriott Cambridge and Courtyard Boston Tremont Hotel are joining Copley in offering menu specials and packages to give people a chance to see the cows and get people in the "moood."

CowParade Packages allow guests to enjoy CowParade as well as the unique features of these four hotels as well as their distinctive cows. There is the centrally located Marriott Copley Place with Fanny, the Fenway Park Cow, and Emmy, the Emerald Necklace Cow, the harbor views and the views of the Freedom Trail, Holstein Style Cow at the Marriott Long Wharf, the historic details of The Tremont with its cow, Ruphus, and the relaxing accommodations of the Cambridge Marriott and Animal Parade Cow. One of the packages available offers a standard room with one king or two double beds, breakfast for up to four people, a cow viewing map and a cow amenity package that comes with a toy and chocolate (one per family, per paid room-night).

For information on packages available at the individual hotels, call Long Wharf at (617) 227-0800, Copley at (617) 236-5800, Tremont at (617) 426-1400 and Cambridge at (617) 494-6600. Information is also available on www.marriott.com or at 1-800-228-9390.
