CSC Jimmy Fund Snow Challenge at Nashoba Valley, Feb. 1
While Olympic skiers and snowboarders take to the slopes in Torino, Italy, local snowsports enthusiasts can be winners by hitting the slopes for the Jimmy Fund.
Skiers and snowboarders of every ability are invited to Nashoba Valley Ski Area for the 11th annual CSC Jimmy Fund Snow Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 11. There will be team and individual ski and snowboard races, an outdoor barbecue lunch, and an après ski party and auction. Plus, free-style legend Wayne Wong will cheer on the racers and hold a celebrity ski clinic.
The entry fee for a four-person race team is $240 and for individual racers, $70. For every $150 raised above the registration fee, one second is deducted from the final race time, so anyone has a chance at winning! If you don't want to race, buy a lift ticket with lunch for just $60 to support the Jimmy Fund.
Computer Science Corporation hosts this event annually to support cancer research. The CSC Jimmy Fund Snow Challenge is Nashoba Valley's only charity race at the mountain. Nashoba Valley is in Westford, Mass.
To sign up call Didier Putzeys at 781-290-1447, or send an email to jfski@csc.com. You can also sign up at the mountain the day of the event. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
