Top Western Mass. restaurants to team up
for 13th annual Great Chefs event
"And All That Jazz" on Jan. 31 to benefit the Jimmy Fund and the fight against cancer
Great jazz and great food will converge for a great cause on Friday, January 31 at "Great Chefs And All That Jazz" to benefit the Jimmy Fund. Presented by Redhook Ale Brewery of Portsmouth, N.H., and Williams Distributing, the 13th anniversary of this gala event, to be held at Chez Josef in Agawam, Mass., 7 to 10 p.m., promises to be an enchanted evening.
Dining in an elegant jazz club atmosphere, event guests will be treated to gourmet samplings prepared by chefs from more than 30 of Western Massachusetts' premier restaurants. DJ Ross McDonald of the Blue Moon Agency will provide the music throughout the evening.
The evening also will include a silent auction to benefit the Jimmy Fund. Guests will be given the opportunity to bid on a ski getaway, sporting event tickets, martial arts lessons and many other exciting items.
Since 1990, the Great Chefs event has raised more than $340,000 for the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund supports the fight against cancer at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which is recognized by the National Cancer Institute as one of the leaders in cancer care and research. Since 1948, millions of people have contributed to the Jimmy Fund and helped raise the chance of survival for children and adults with cancer around the world.
Advanced tickets to "Great Chefs And All That Jazz" are $50 for adults and $20 for children aged 12 and younger. Tickets at the door are $60 for adults and $30 for children. To order tickets, call the Jimmy Fund's Western Massachusetts Office toll free at (888) 546-6938.
