Nation's Largest Ice Cream Festival
Celebrates 20th Year
The Fleet Scooper Bowl®, June 11, 12 and 13
BOSTON – Celebrating 20 years of sweet success, the nation's largest all-you-can-eat ice cream festival, the Fleet Scooper Bowl, will take over Boston's City Hall Plaza, June 11, 12, and 13.
Part festival, part fund-raiser, the Fleet Scooper Bowl serves up ice cream from nine of the nation's leading ice cream companies, offering 36 different flavors at all times. Tens of thousands of locals, business people, tourists, children, and families will enjoy ice-cream-eating contests, live music, and games while raising money for the Jimmy Fund. In the past 19 years, the Fleet Scooper Bowl has raised more than $1 million for the Jimmy Fund, which supports cancer research and treatment at the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Jimmy Fund event organizers expect to raise more than $100,000 during this year's annual ice cream celebration.
This summer's line-up includes ice cream from Ben & Jerry's, Brigham's/Elan, Double Rainbow Gourmet Ice Cream, Edy's, Good Humor/Breyer's, Häagen—Dazs, H.P. Hood, Kemps, and Garelick Farms. To date, generous ice cream companies have supplied, scooped, and served about 200 tons of ice cream to New Englanders at the Fleet Scooper Bowl.
The Fleet Scooper Bowl takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each of the three days. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 3-10, and free for children under age 3. For more information, call (800) 52-JIMMY.
