Electronic registration makes 26.2-mile walk easier than ever…to register
BOSTON — It all starts with a "click." The Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk, presented by MFS Investment Management®, now offers on-line registration. In addition to making quick work of the registration process, the online registration page is easy to e-mail to potential teammates and contributors.
Over its 13-year history the Jimmy Fund Walk has contributed more than $22 million to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass.; and this year's 14th Annual Jimmy Fund Walk is expected to raise more than $4.5 million.
The Walk offers participants a unique opportunity to use the sanctioned "marathon" course from Hopkinton to Copley Square. And, more importantly, the Walk gives participants a chance to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients now and in the future.
In addition to the registration fee ($15 before Aug 20, $30 after that date), a minimum fundraising contribution of $100 is required of participants ($50 for ages 12 and younger), and membership in the Pacesetter Club is offered to walkers who raise more than $750.
The Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk will take place on Sunday, Sept. 29. Start time for the 26.2-mile Walk is 7 a.m. in Hopkinton; there are also options for walking the distances of 13.1 miles (from Wellesley), and 3 miles.
